I understand what you are saying and appreciate your suggestion, but this took me quite some time and I was a little bit frustrated when you said that you would prefer something completely different. I never mute people, by the way, unless I deem them complete assholes, and by far you, butterhead, are not a complete asshole.
More digression...
Your idea sounds like a good one, but it's just not what I was trying to go for.
I also have an idea where one could make a "The Turn of the Century" Variant for each continent, and combine them all! That would truly make a great game......in some cases.
Regardless, feel free to use my map and adapt it to what you had in mind. If you really want to make it yourself, otherwise....I don't know where I was going with this sentence.
Digression Part III
My biggest problem I had with my own variant was that I thought France and Boers were slightly overpowered...and that that put Italy and Portugal at a disadvantage. If anyone has any suggestions to fix this, feel free to let me know.
