What's the deal with the Main Tourney game not starting yet?

About the second chance game, I am on vacation right now and so wont join just yet. However on Monday I will join, just for the heads up as to why I haven't joined yet.

I have finally contacted the replacement. Sorry to keep you all waiting. The game should begin shortly.

Just copying+pasting this from the old thread, so it doesn't get forgotten;

Say we start with WWIV, 35 players. 19 players advance to Haven, 16 players fall to 2 Migraines.

From Haven, 9 players advance to Known World 901 and are accompanied by top 3 from each of Migraines. Losers from Migraines end, 10 losers from Haven play Modern II.

Top 7 of Known World and top 4 from Modern II play Crowded. Losers from Modern end, 8 losers from Known World play Karibik.

Top 5 from Crowded and top 2 from Karibik play Classic. Losers from Karibik end, 6 losers from Fall play Imperium.

Top 3 of Classic and top 2 of Imperium play Ancient Med, losers from Classic Rat wars.

Top 2 of AncMed gets to play Hundred, while the winner of Rat Wars (rats fight till the end!) play loser from AncMed in yet another Rat Wars, whose winner gets to Hundred.

Winner of Hundred is winner since we don't want to play 2 player maps and so the double elimination is eliminated from the final step ;)

The losers game is missing 4 players.

It looks like we are going to need some replacements for the second chance game.

Well, I know one guy in the second chance game who has quit vdip and who I'm trying to get back, at least just for this game.

So far there has been no response from nickbar1, G, or thatwasawkward.

G is the one I know. I'll send him an e-mail.

Now thatwasawkward is the only one who has not responded about the second chance game. We are also waiting for fasces349 to join after his vacation.

Bynz made a very good point about the bottom 8 of the Known World Game. He did refere to it as 7 but it would be the bottom 8. Does this change the chance of the Kib game?

"I am not sure that that is entirely correct Axum. I thought, if I remember right 6 of the players on this board have been in the Migraine games (Top 3 of each made it in), meaning they have lost once. So if they were to lose in this one they would have to be eliminated, correct. If that is true, then if your right about 7 players advancing to the next round from this game, is correct. Then the bottom 7 are not assured to be playing in a second chance game. As for some of those 7, this game might be there second loss. So I think it might be a lot more complicated then that on the losing side.

The real question is how many advances? That would be the only thing that could be assured to be known. All others not making it on in the top side of this game. Will depend on there current record or if they have been in one of the second chance games already or not. Thus effecting there possibility of having another game after this. That is if it was made with 6 players from Migraine games. I believe, 9 came from the Haven and 3 each from the 2 Migraines. Don't hold me to that but if my memory serves me right, that is the case."

As far as i know, its NOT double elimination, but rather double elimination IN A ROW. It dkesnt matter that 6 people were in the migraine games. They won so theyre back in the top bracket. If they lose here, they are NOT eliminated, but just in the Karibik game.

You played well, Spartan - well enough to move on. The numbers thing sometimes makes it feel like musical chairs, but that's the way it goes. I'm sure you'll exact your revenge in a future match.

I hope I get the chance. I really thought I had it locked up, but in the end it comes down to how much your allies think of you. When its down to one person needs to be eliminated, thats all it is and i ended up being the odd man out.
