Is the ModForum still being used? I'm in no hurry, but I posted this over two weeks ago:
Subject: Can't create new game with custom phase length

I'm trying to create a game with 42-hour phases, but keep getting this error: "The phase value is too large or small; it must be between 5 minutes and 10 days."
I was able to do this a few years ago without any problem: gameID=32997

Anyone else having trouble with the interactive map?
When I click on a unit of mine, no buttons show up. I haven't been doing any messing around in the settings for a long time, and my orders are not readied. Anyone else? Help?

Nuclear strike option
In several Diplomacy game variants we have the Nuclear strike rule which allows any player to destroy any (or only foe's - I don't remember exactly) unit once in a game.

Where is kaner?
We have had to Extend a game because kaner never showed up after joining. Brisbanites might want to check to see whether he may be trapped under a refrigerator as a result of a cookie jar related accident. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQe0OWZvwWo

Have you ever teach people to play Diplomacy?
My 8-year-old son knows that I play Diplomacy and sometimes even watches the situation progress in my games, but only today I registered him and explaine the rules of the game. He plays chess well, so I think there will be no problems with that.

is that how it works? wont u get a automatic 17 center if someone concedes? or wouldnt u get a +1 point since they technically conceded?
Mittag (1396 D)
03 Jun 20 UTC
I think the +1 was changed to a -1 for the conceding player instead, so we should have the same no of points.
Mittag (1396 D)
03 Jun 20 UTC
But yes it's the center count that I'm not sure what to do with
Mittag (1396 D)
03 Jun 20 UTC
It does make sense to me that you would get some benefit from having had to play 6 games instead of 4
umbletheheep (1023 D)

If a person drops out you automatically get those points. Already asked. Makes sense that you shouldn't be penalized and possibly not make the finals because of someone else's lack of commitment.
You get an automatic 17 centers if someone forfeited a game to you, as it’s essentially a 17-0 game.
so.. what now?
Mittag (1396 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
It's a tie, right?

I don't really feel like I understand the tiebreaker procedure, but if I got it right, and if badivan1 wins his last game, then me and Coffee should be tied for top seed, and Maucat and bsiper should be tied for bottom seed? I guess that would resolve the issue, because it should be out of the question that I play bsiper again?
umbletheheep (1023 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
Well... badivan conceded a game to me so that's a -1 for him. Not that I think it'll ultimately matter much when the games are played.
umbletheheep (1023 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
Is seeding by rounds like each top player gets a 1-4 or is it just by points?
umbletheheep (1023 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
Also, how does a concession impact my score. I know it gives a -1 to them but it also robs be of points too or your breaking ones because you don't even get the full 17 let alone if you ended with more.
Maucat (1834 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
The games with Superwerty are finished I win 18:9 one game and lost the other 10:17.
Maucat (1834 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
Someone can verify the classifications of the 4 groups, thanks?
Mittag (1396 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
@umble I think it just means that badivan is 5th seed no matter what
Mittag (1396 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
I'm gonna let AE do the counting, as I'll probably just confuse things with misunderstandings

But in a conceded game is wrong add 1 point to the winner… I think the right solution is subtract 1 point to the looser.
Mittag (1396 D)
04 Jun 20 UTC
(+1)
subtract one point fro the loser is what was agreed upon
Mittag is correct. Subtract one point from the loser.

Umble will get the full 17 SCs for the game badivan conceded. We won’t punish Umble for winning.

Ranks 1-4 are the group winners sorted by points. Ranks 5-8 are the group runners-up sorted by points.

Here’s what would help. Post the results of each of your six games with the real SC counts, the scenario that ended the game (conceded, forfeited, didn’t show, etc.), and when the game ended.
Argentinean Empire:
Nato Win: 17-10; 1963
USSR Win: 17-10; 1965
Mr. Finkelmuiyer
Nato Win: 19-6; 1966
USSR Win: 17-10; 1965
Individual
Nato Win: 17-9; 1963
USSR Win: 20-6; 1966
a bit unfair since Individual did leave midway without conceding, hence the 20 scs

Live messaging Diplomacy
Hello everyone, I would like to play a standard game of diplomacy, but exchange social network accounts of one network all players are in (preferentially Signal, but fb does the job as well) in order to be able to have Live communication and if wished, even calls. Could make things more immersive. 1 ½ days per phase. Anyone interested?

Flash is Dead, Statistics page is Broken
Now that flash is dead, that statistics page is missing the graphs. Is the something in the works to get this fixed?

(it also just makes getting to the page difficult, as Vdip keeps asking for flash, and you have to say no multiple times before you can access the page)
