I think the 3-member team concept is just too small - it's more likely than not you're too far from your teammates to do any good cooperating.

Since everyone is split two on each half of the country, why not have 12 teams of 4 and one team of two - and the team of two controls Hawaii+Alaska, or Maine+Vermont or something like that?

Ambys suggestion has some merit. Make the team of 2 in a strong position and experienced players to give them a good chance? I'll volunteer myself for a team of 2 if this idea works out.

Sign me up. And I agree with CCR that we should just do 10 teams of 5. In the Europa team game we had teams of 4 and people ended up getting isolated from their teammates a bit. Teams of less than 4 on an even bigger map would be even more individualized. I think even 5 member teams could be a bit small but there's no other number that works well.

Upon closer reading of the rules, my point is less valid. I think I prefer random, secret teams, but I understand that balanced, known teams might work better for a map this big. I still think 10 teams of 5 is the way to go though.

Certainly it's possible to have hidden balanced teams. Have a third party make them?

I'd be in for 5p teams.

I'd have a very strong preference for teams to be crafted such that every player in them borders at least one teammate, but that's less of a dealbreaker than having unbalanced player numbers in teams.

I think mouse is onto something here, this way different parts of the map will have different 'leaders'

I strongly support the everyone borders at least 1 teammate

If not having a strand of 5 connected teamates

Butterhead if this doesn't fill up we could do ER instead

Sorry I've been off the forum for a couple days, been a bit busy. If we can't get filled up we will do ER I suppose, as I have yet to get to play a full game on that map. I will work on making teams for both divided states and ER this week.

Ah ok. If ER DO NOT put England and Scotland together under any circumstances

I’m going to set a deadline for Friday at 9pm EST to sign up. If we don’t have enough by then, we will play on a smaller map(since there are variants for 34-36 players we would shoot for one of those)

Maybe we should try to advertise it in the games we're playing. Many players don't look at the forum ..

Advertising in games seems like a good idea. Or if we do a slightly smaller map, Europa Renovatio could be interesting.
