Though the game gopher27 linked was not very communicative at all. In email games I've been playing we have in Spring 1901 several times their messages for the whole game. Also the majority of messages seem to be no longer than a single verse in a Beatles song.

In the game gopher linked to, you could probably only read the "global" press. There's much more action in the private press that you can't see since you're not a part of the game.

Regarding email games: The phases on email games tend to be longer, around a week or so. The games on here tend to be 1 - 2 days max. This leaves far less time for diplomacy, and with people having to work and sleep, there no guarantee people will be online at the same time so it's hard to have very long conversations. If you're looking for a ridiculous amount of press, long phase email games are probably where you should continue to play. If you want a reasonable amount of press in a faster game, vdip and it's sister site webdiplomacy.net are a good place to find a few regulars and join in.

yes, unfortunately those people exist. but they usually don't do well.

Yup, tt is right. Unfortunately, with the anonymity of online gaming, some people just don't care. But I can guarantee that if you play a game with myself, tt, gopher and a couple of the other regulars, you'll get good conversation. Maybe not as much as you had hoped for but at least the quality will be high.

and if you play with me, butterhead, and Imp C you'll get more conversation then you can handle
