I played you 3 times, kaner twice and Ender and Mapu once. You're up 13-7 in our games thus far, so hopefully I pull off a miracle 8-2 which will allow me to finish 5th or 6th, lol

@fasces. I'm confused... Mapu ended Round 5 with 16 VPs. He skipped Round 6, so (Rule 6, first post in threadID=33238) now he should have 15 VPs. Am I missing anything?

(again, not that this will affect first positions... it's just to understand how you look at it.)

I gave him the 6-point bye since what he wanted was to play round 7 instead of round 6, I suppose I shouldn't have done that, but I don't think it will effect final positions.

I guess its up to Wolfman and Mapu. If one of them really wants to play and the other is willinging to take the bye I can change the results.

I am happy to sit out this round again to make it even if Wolfman wants to play.

I think if you run this tournament again, you (we) should come up with a different scoring system. Or at least, a different way of "scheduling" it. I haven;t had a chance to play most players who will be finishing ahead of me.

Actually, I might further suggest that when this tournament is complete that we start a "ladder" where you can challenge your way up. An ongoing tournament, so to speak. With some rules, like challenge to a round of 2 gvi, 2 avf, tie goes to incumbent and you can only challenge up as many spaces as your current ranking divided by two. (Round down).

yeah, there will be changes to the system for the next round, but this was a fun experiment.

I will sit out this round. I thought originally Mapu and I was swapping anyway.

If we score on bye's then I might have one round that I score more then 2 in. Lol.

Just my suggestion, if we (the 17 player we have now, and stayed committed to the tournament) should do a season that positions us for a tournament. With Wins-Losses-Ties records. Then seeded based on record for a Winner's and maybe a Loser's (only if everyone wanted that) bracket.

The season would require you to play all members and everyone gets a bye once. Then maybe top 6 played in the Winner's bracket. Others play in the Loser's (if it is decided to have one). The Loser's bracket can even have the loser's in the Winner's drop down and play in the Loser's bracket. With the final winner of the Loser's bracket getting a shot at the Championship.

The set up of only 6 making the Winner's would definitely make the Loser's slower. That could be changed to 8 make it into the Winner's (about half), or we could make the Winner's 10 and it become a double elimination with the losers and the ones that fall into the Loser's from the Winner's.

We used to do this in our advanced physical education class. It was more balanced to find a true Ultimate Champion.

Just thoughts. It would have to be a league so to say. Due to playing the season and all. We could make expansions if we find committed others that want to join.

I'll stop now and see what you all think or questions if anyone has some.

Problem with that is 17 rounds, at 3 weeks/round=51 weeks. The tournament would literally last a year...

The alternative is to drop from 5 games, to 3 (have just AvF and Duo) and then have a full round robin. but still, this would be a 6-7 month tournament...

Or, it could be just 1 game of duo during the regular season. Use those results for the seeding, and keep all players for the tournament, with the first round separating the winners and losers bracket. For the tournament, it would be 4 games: 2 AvF, 2 GvI, with a duo tiebreaker.

Or you could shut up Devonian....because Duo's hate me....lol

unfortunately Devonian, unlike you, the rest of us are not talented on every map and some of us are only capable on one or two of the 5 map types being player thus far, lol.
