01 Feb 14 UTC Spring, 1901: Looong day at work, not ignoring my messages! Will respond shortly.
01 Feb 14 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck to everyone!
01 Feb 14 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck all!
06 Feb 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: Hi all,

I'd appreciate an extend as I'm away over the weekend. I might be able to get internet where I'm going, but I'm not sure, so I'd prefer to be safe and get the extend :)

Thanks!
06 Feb 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: GameMaster: China voted for a Extend. If 2/3 of the active players vote Extend the the current phase will be extend by 4 days. Please consider backing this. If the majority is not reached by "Autumn, 1902" the votes will be cleared.
07 Feb 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: GameMaster: Per 2/3 majority vote the gamephase got extended by 4 days.
(Voters: United Kingdom / Soviet Union / China / Japan / United States)
17 Feb 14 UTC Spring, 1903: I think I can predict the four nations going through here - England, Russia, Germany and India :D
20 Feb 14 UTC Autumn, 1903: wth? Sometimes I'm convinced someone is messing with my orders... I'm about as certain as I can be without having taken a screenshot that I checked my orders using the preview button. I'm almost as certain that I would have seen Nepal to Chungking or Amursk to Peking had I entered those incorrectly.

Anyway, no harm done, now I just have to figure out which of my co-workers has been messing with my game(s) when I forget to lock my screen.
20 Feb 14 UTC Autumn, 1903: Seems like that's been happening a lot lately. If I wasn't playing so many damn games I might start taking screen shots.
24 Feb 14 UTC Is it alright if we draw here? I don't want my vDip rating being hurt more than it already has been this week :)

We know who's going through to the next round and who isn't, so there's no reason not to.
24 Feb 14 UTC GameMaster: China voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
25 Feb 14 UTC I also wouldn't mind a draw! Especially considering they now have unrated games that can be created, it's a shame this couldn't be one in which case it wouldn't matter, but I would hate for vDip ratings to plummet losing to likely 4 very good players...
25 Feb 14 UTC Not sure if a draw now is very fair to Italy
25 Feb 14 UTC He CD'd...
25 Feb 14 UTC In any case, it makes no difference to Italy whether we draw here or draw next phase.
25 Feb 14 UTC Guys... I would really appreciate it if you drew. It doesn't change the outcome of the game at all, but it does stop my (and US's) vRating from dropping. I know I have been enemies with both Japan and Russia this game, but please don't delay the draw and make my rating drop because of that. I was just trying to survive :(
26 Feb 14 UTC I think the point Japan is trying to make is that we shouldn't include China or USA when we're not including Italy. If we have a 6-way draw now, Italy's ranking will go down a significant amount while China's and USA's will actually go up slightly, even though all three of them met the same fate in the game.

I don't care either way - I don't look at the vDip rankings as a completely accurate stat, and improving my ranking isn't the reason I'm playing this tournament. That being said, I completely understand why people want to wait until China and USA have been eliminated to draw.
26 Feb 14 UTC Realistically, it is up to USSR and Japan to make their decision. Though I understand the reasoning for not wishing to exclude just Italy, he did CD. And on top of that, he did not bring up the point as China has now. As far as I could tell, when Italy was eliminated (or about to be), the final four players moving on had not been resolved 100% as they are now. I felt I had a chance to move on based on conversations I was having, so a draw including him would not have been logical. However now that the four advancing have been decided without a doubt, I think it would be a logical idea.

Granted, it would be nice to have Italy's opinion on this, but if he doesn't weigh in, I don't know how accurately we can say that he cares about being left out at this point.
26 Feb 14 UTC The argument for keeping you two is that both of you were phenomenal communicators, and neither if you ever gave up, even when things did not go favorably for you. In any other scenario I would have considered either of you to be a great ally, and therefore I don't mind rewarding that never-say-die attitude with a draw.

On the other hand, both of you lost. Blame it on the tournament format, starting position, whatever you want, but you still lost. Four players did a better job than three others, so why should two of those three end with the same result as the four? Everyone knew going in that they had a 3/7 chance of losing, and everyone should have accepted the fact that their ranking might drop, or that they would get a 'defeat', or whatever other stat people seem to care so much about. None of the losers in previous rounds were included in a draw, so why change things now?
26 Feb 14 UTC I would be fine with taking a loss as long as the other defeated players also lost. I think that's the fairest.
