20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: Hello! OK, first game on vDip and first game of this type. How did I get Austria?! Anyway, looks like fun. May I, er I mean the best player, win... |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: OK, now I think I get it... the two question marks in brackets meant two random countries.. :-) |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: Yes, correct. There are a couple of set 2-player variants, but I like the occasional random draw for the novelty. Welcome to vDip! Have you been playing on other sites or face-to-face previously? |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1901: I first played face-to-face in the 1980s. :-) Played for a few years, including tournaments, then got burnt out. Just picked up playing online again on a whim last month, so I'm on all the main platforms, trying them out. |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1901: That pretty well describes my history :) I found this to be the right place/community for me. I also play on WebDip and the Spanish site. |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Took me a long while to adjust to the colours on WebDip - i.e. that the spaces are coloured, rather than the units. But it does have the best range of games and ranking system. |
20 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1902: May I ask... (I couldn't this in FAQ or help or on the board page itself). If a vDip/WebDip user hits Save but not Ready, will their moves count when the deadline expires? This isn't really clear to me... |
21 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1902: Yes, it just takes the full phase length before processing, whereas if every player hits Ready the game will process immediately. |
21 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1903: Cool, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if your orders counted if you'd just hit "save" but it seems like they do. |
23 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1904: Whoops, I did the old mixup of Venice with Vienna. :-) |
23 Jun 15 UTC | Spring, 1904: I don't mind ;) |
24 Jun 15 UTC | Autumn, 1904: No wonder! It really caused me a lot of problems. Oh well... :-) |
28 Jun 15 UTC | GameMaster: France voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
28 Jun 15 UTC | Thanks for the game! |
