16 Sep 22 UTC GG Orange. Idk why but I definitely thought this map needed more centers than 26 to win. Oops.
16 Sep 22 UTC GG! Gonna be honest I thought this was going to go badly at the start when I'm already playing one of the weakest nations, couldn't get any builds first year, and Sverige (who was also just as weak as me and had a huge enemy in the east) decided to stabbed me in the second year for no apparent gain, like all that did was make me weaker and give them another enemy, dunno why they thought to do that. Thought I was as good as dead once they stabbed me. But somehow things worked out with me getting better positioning on the isles to push out Danmark and pushing the Sverige units out of my lands without losing anything more. Also with how big Slavic Nations was given Sverige practically giving up I thought they were going to steam roll (And also it's really funny that the previous Slavic Nations left literally on the last turn so therefore didn't get any points despite playing 99% of the game).
16 Sep 22 UTC And yes the fact that this game only requires like 30% of the centers makes solos a lot easier and I'm not sure I would've been able to solo otherwise, my strategy would've had to change a lot. I think part of why it's so low is because of the only building in home centers thing, where a lot of people just couldn't reach their home centers. Danmark lost most of their home centers fairly quickly, Sverige lost basically everything in Russia, Burgundy and France swapped the eastern France/German centers which meant they generally only had half their home centers to build on. Me, Slavic Nations, and Eastern Rome were really the only ones with most/all of our home centers midway through the game, which gives a lot greater ability to get units to different fronts and to counter potential attacks
16 Sep 22 UTC Wow! I received 31 points and made only one move...a retreat.
16 Sep 22 UTC Lmao, congrats
16 Sep 22 UTC Love the analysis Orange. Thanks for sharing! As a mid-to-late entrant having to re-establish myself, i tried to signal collaboration with the last Burgandy but once I did he left and couldn’t really waste time reestablishing trust. Had I known it was fewer centers it would have been prudent to retreat on all fronts to communicate a collective effort to stop you but we never got there as a board (i definitely contributed negatively in this way with some of my moves)
16 Sep 22 UTC The fact that this game is PPSC probably wouldn't have helped you much with that collective effort, as others could take your centers to get a bigger piece of the pie rather than stopping me
