16 Sep 12 UTC Spring, 1901: [Cass]: we just diving in or how are we starting this one?
16 Sep 12 UTC Spring, 1901: Let's dive in!
17 Sep 12 UTC Spring, 1901: I wonder if England knows we have started? It is 2 days/phase, I suppose...
17 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Aha, fashionably late, I see!
17 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: I am playing another game of this map, and have allied with one to weaken the other before stabbing and going for the solo. What will happen here?
17 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Aha, I guess we shall see ;)
18 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: That's not an amphibious vehicle, England ;)
Though that would be very cool!
18 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Open for feedback?

Good ;)

England: That army needs to convoy via fleet. Your orders would have been Wales to Brest via convoy/ EC convoy Wales to Brest. Not a big loss, because you can only get 2 builds max the first Autumn anyway, but you lose a step positioning-wise. Now you'll have to take 2 more turns to get that army onto the mainland - one to get a fleet into position and one to convoy.

Italy: unlike England, can get 3 builds first Autumn, but you only got 2. In these 2- or 3-player variations, it's often about getting as many SCs as possible early on, while still paying some attention to positioning when you have a choice. Your opening moves, if I may say so, could have been: Ven > Tri, Rom > Ven, then in the Autumn you would have gone Tri > Vie or Bud, Ven > Tri. Thus you would have gotten 3 builds. Also, the fleet to Tunis is open for debate. I don't presume that you didn't think of this, but just in case: The choice to go to Tunis or Greece comes down to which front you feel you need to get positioning for more quickly. England will certainly build more fleets than Russia, and will move them down to Med. You want to get your own fleets out there to prevent access to the Med. England will usually send that original London fleet south quickly while convoying the army to Norway. On the other hand, Russia will try to get the jump on Italy in establishing a Balkan front, hoping to deny access to the Aegean.

Russia has the distinct advantage in this variant of getting 4 builds the first Autumn. I think I chose the counties poorly, and should have gone with three that each can get three builds to begin. Oops ;) At least we all had a shot at being assigned Russia. Anyhow, now that I've gotten off to a fast start, I fully expect I will have to contend with some cooperation on your part. Bring it bitches!
18 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Awesome. Thanks for the breakdown! That helps a lot actually.
18 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: You're welcome!
20 Sep 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Uh oh......fashionably late again?
20 Sep 12 UTC Spring, 1902: Def thanks for the info! Still learning...
20 Sep 12 UTC Spring, 1902: Glad you made it back in time!

Uh, I see you built an army. This means that in order to move them off the island, you need to move your fleets back to North and/or EC, and then convoy. This *could* get you Brest and Hol or Den by the Autumn build, but it also assumes that I won't be taking Hol, Den, or for that matter Norway. With a full map of 7 players, you and I might have an alliance that says I won't take Norway from you, but with 3 players......
