Alacavre
So what is the difference between Alacavre and regular Diplomacy? To me, it seems like it is the exact same game. What makes it a variant?

Glitch in 1880
gameID=394

In this game, the press is not colored and the sending country is not shown, making it difficult to identify who sent it in global press. The color also does not show up in the private press either. However, when I view this game on an ipod, the colors are displayed. At first, I thought global press was grey press, but since it can be viewed on an ipod, it must be a glitch.

I am in bugged game
http://vdiplomacy.com/board.php?gameID=465&nocache=944
I joined this one few days ago and unfortunetlly my opponent missed all turns so i was quickly able to expand and take both of flagships out on same phase. But now (when the flagships are destroyied) the game isn't ending....my opponent doesn't have any SCs nor fleets...and the game has marked him/her "Defeated" too :)
So could admin/mod end my game if it isn't too much to ask

It's not perfect, but it works...
Maybe I'll improve the script as time goes on.
The results will be better the more games are ending...
I already learned something from it, according to the stats on hundred, and the games I played on it, Burgundy has a big advantage.

I think the point count should be update to this:
# of SC @ end of game * Finish type*100/# of SC in game.
Then it gives a number out of 100 for performance in a slightly more fair system (aka, a better survive gives more points, a better draw gives more points)
You could use a revised version of the Calhamer system.

1 point for a win
(1/n) points for a draw, where n = number of players in the draw
0 D for a defeat

is the original Calhamer system. I'd add in .5*(a/b) for a survive, where a = number of centers and b = victory condition (so in an 18-16 split of Classic, the winner gets 1 point, the survivor gets .44 D).

Why .5*(a/b)? Because a 2-way draw would result in .5 apiece with the draw formula and the survive formula. That means that any survival is worse than a 2-way draw -- but it also acknowledges strong second performances. While strong seconds are usually discouraged for gameplay purposes, statistically you want to see strong seconds acknowledged. More data to go off of.

I agree with Shah, it would let me see if my theories actually pan out in the point distribution for the Anc Map.

I always thought Gothi had a huge advantage in Imperium, and the stats confirm it. Every solo on that map has been by Gothi.
fasces349 (1007 D)

I know, I was winning an Imperium game as the Gothi when Oli crashed.

man lovin' the new stats breakout page, this is good stuff
guak (1262 D X)

I won two of the three solos of the Gothi and I think that they do not have a huge advantage. In one of the games I got lucky that the saxons player chose not to take Byzantium leaving the east entirely to me. However on the second one I could had easily been eliminated by the Saxons player and was actually the smallest nation throughout most of the game. I just got lucky to get the win with two timely allegiance shifts.
guak (1262 D X)

The advantage the gothi have is that they don't risk losing in the first year like all the other nations. So they have at least the ability to negotiate their survival.

well, that Imeprium game is pretty inconsistent, we had a few bogus but well played games before the crash that I did well in but never really enjoyed

Australia Game?
I've got five friends looking to play an Australia game and we need three more to fill it up. One day phases, anonymous players, WTA, 30 D. We're decent players, and should give a good communicative game.
