How about we do:

1. Mate Against Mate (9 players)
2. Sengoku (9 players)
*3. Karibik (8 players)

Or any other similar variant +/- 1 person, since there are only 2 9-player maps. Or we could only play 2 metagames, or we could use Modern Diplomacy II, South American Domination, etc etc. The possibilities are much better, and I don't want to join another essentially classic metagame, if we are playing on vdip it needs to be interesting. Anybody like my idea?

Personally I also would like to play on Karibik or South American Domination, Karibik has a good use of navy and Modern Diplomacy II is overplayed.

Sengoku is 8 players + 1 nuetral.
Given that half the maps are 7 players, lets make it 7 player maps only

and almost ALL of the 7 player maps are classic modifications. Classic w/ fleet in Rome, Milan Diplomacy, 1890, 1887 (or whatever the dates are), no neutrals, greypress. They are all the same, and all essentially one map. If we're playing unique maps, let's play unique maps.

you need the maps to be kind of similar so the metagaming can work across maps.

no you don't. You can trade an SC here for an SC there, adapting to the different maps is much more fun. You already need to adapt from being different nations on every map anyway, changing your alliances. Why not change around the landscape a little bit instead of playing the same map for the billionth time?

How do you see this being played out, all the games running at once or a series of once one meta variant ended you start the next? If the latter I'm interested, especially playing Mate and Karabik. Are alliances set before the game starts?

its the first. this will be the third one, the first two were on WebDip.

Yeah, they go simultaneous so you can say things like, "I'll give you Belgium in game one, but you give me support into Norway in game 2."

Basically the MetaGame rules are just that - Metagaming is encouraged within these 4 games, you can discuss the other games you are playing (within the metagame series) and you can make x-diplomatic discussions.

As for the maps, I am fine with Karibik, Sengoku and Mate Against Mate, but I dislike South American Supremacy.

I don't think I have enough money for these games, lol. I should be able to have enough for 5 in a week like Imp suggested.
