So I made it random countries. I know I said pick your own originally. Any objections to random?

And we can still discuss 9 teams if 4 v 12 teams of 3 if we wanted to?

I'm good with random unless I get Brandenburg again, hahahaha.

I'm a fan of random countries.

As far as the size of teams. Teams of 3 will mean teams will most likely be spread out quite a bit and for much of the match. Not sure if teams will be able to work together much other than trade information with one another.

We had one dropout. the * means they have not responded to my PM, but all of the players were on the site within the last 24 hours. Things are looking good! =D

I know I advocated for random countries before, but doing a snake draft for countries could also make it interesting, though again a bit more work. So assuming its the 9 teams version, would be a 4 round draft.
Round 1: Team 1 gets 1st pick, team 2 gets 2nd pick, ... team 9 gets 9th pick
Round 2: Team 9 gets 1st pick, team 8 gets 2nd pick, ... team 1 gets 9th pick
Round 3: Team 1 gets 1st pick, ... and so on

It lets teams try to build up strength in a certain region instead of randomly being scattered across the map, though there would still be some scatter.

I do believe that we were going to try and avoid strength in certain regions...

The actual rules are fairly simple when you boil them down -

You will be messaged with a secret 'team', everyone in your team has the same list.
You're not allowed to hit the 'draw' buttons until your team are the only surviving players on the map.


...actually that raises a decent point - are we obligated to draw as soon as it is only teammates left alive? I would personally argue 'yes' (as allowing one team member to then stab their team and go for a solo seems somewhat opposed to the general intent of the game), but it's definitely something to clarify.

It wouldn't matter, you win and lose with your team.

I once advocated for random teams, but I -and others- realized full randomness will result in unfairly deterministic results in some or at least a few regions of the map. Given another method requires a methodology (even if randomness is involved in a certain degree), and given th methodology should better be kept secret, I suggested a neutral party apply a reasonable, rational method to pick teams (pick powers - not players). I trust Mercy for this,and he already acceptedas above. +1 this and we'll know you agree...

Sounds like a neat idea, let's make it happen.

Mercy has said he will help with team picking. I endorse his help and appreciate it.

I prefer full random, but would understand if Mercy makes slight changes if he feels the results come out ridiculously skewed. Of course, I expect that we would never know what - if any - changes are made. So for all intents and purposes, it would be random.

Is it too late to jump in on this? Looks like there is still an open spot, unless people joined the game without posting here

Join the last spot, and then fight the person who didn't sign up.

MagicalSand said he'd join like 10 posts back, but didn't add himself to the list. I'll let other people decide if that's enough or not! Quite possible 1 of those on the list who hasn't joined the game yet will go missing, too.
