I concur. Abandoned games should count for your total and count against you both in vDip points and also on your percentages. Not that everyone cares about percentages, but it's the principle of the matter. You joined a game, abandoned it, but it doesn't show up in your win/draw v loss/survive percentages. It should. You lost by default.

On a somewhat related note, ever since the no vDip points loss was instituted for CD takeovers, we have a vDip points "inflation" when compared to win/draw v loss/survive percentages. I know of a few highly rated (via vDip points) players who have somewhat average percentages. But since they gain points for win/draws but don't lose anything for draw/survive, their points are artificially inflated if they only takeover CD positions.

Not really a huge deal since it's helped get positions taken over, but kinda makes things confusing to decipher if you're just looking at vDip points. Not really sure how you'd rectify it except excluding vDip points (both gain and loss) from CD positions.

Some of the people you speak of that have a high vDip rating, but bad percentages, may have bad percentages precisely because they are the people that are taking over CD's with 3 units, 1 SC during builds. Obviously that position will usually result in a defeat.

I think rather than split the vDip between regular and CD positions, would it be better to just only award vDip points when they play the CD position better than expected? That still preserves some incentive for people to take over CD positions, but doesn't reward them as much for taking over a position that is an easy draw in a few turns. My first draft idea is only award vDip points in excess of what they would be if there were a draw on the turn they take over. For example, if the pot is 50 in a game with 5 players left, that position is worth 10 in a draw. But if the game ends in the position being awarded 17 vDip points, the person taking over the CD would only get 7. But I think if they are defeated they should still not lose any points. Mainly because such a large proportion of CD's are already very losing positions.
