No Neutrals Game, something about a drought...
http://www.vdiplomacy.com/board.php?gameID=1376&msgCountryID=5
i wanna create this to talk with the guy who played Austria and anyone else who was involved in the game
RoxArt (1732 D)
11 May 11 UTC
and what you want to talk about?
about you giving turkey the win? lol....
or about you always taking a whole day cause not putting rdy....
ezpickins (1656 D)
12 May 11 UTC
i gave turkey the win? not by much, he had the win even if he didn't take Liverpool. so that's not my fault,
and as to the reason he won instead of you is that you constantly criticized me for making the game "last longer" even though it was shorter than the full number of phases would suggest if played out to the full phase length. i had to choose between you and him, and i chose him because it was more fun reading his comments and he was less directly confrontational and critical of my policies
TBroadley (1202 D)
12 May 11 UTC
@ezpickins: well, I hadn't won yet. There was still a pretty good chance that RoxArt could have grabbed some of my centers before I could take his.

@RoxArt: I think we play Diplomacy differently. You appreciate teamwork over success, and I'm the other way around. I'm not disrespecting your viewpoint, but I think that it goes against the objective of Diplomacy.
ezpickins (1656 D)
12 May 11 UTC
Well you could not lose a center from anything i could see, if you point one of these out i would appreciate it
TBroadley (1202 D)
12 May 11 UTC
I could have lost Warsaw quite easily. Germany would have been a lost cause if Austria moved NTH-Den or HEL.
RoxArt (1732 D)
12 May 11 UTC
@ez: he would have had 17 and I would have been in better position, further I made you a big text with a proposal to get you back to 2 or 3 center and you did not even answer....
so blablabla

@Tbroadley: you're wrong... did you look at my stats? ;) I guess 55% WINS say it all. But in certain games a good draw means more... Like in this game where we were allies from start I would rather draw with a good ally to keep him in good memory than stab and have a bad sign in his mind as you have in mine now....
Now you will say each game should be independent but you know it's allways there in the back of your mind ;)

and to ez: first I ment 11 not 17... and second answer to your ingame msg if you again do not read there:
wales could have support holded! I wrote you I would not attack!
did you even read my messages :/

wowowowow?
me?
what did I do to you...
you made the misstakes in the south.. and I could not help there.... ;)
ezpickins (1656 D)
12 May 11 UTC
Tbroadley: you would not have lost a center in the fall.
Rox: i read it, there was only little i could do to prevent the win, so i felt that support holding would be superfluous
RoxArt (1732 D)
12 May 11 UTC
I offered you to help you survive and had a good plan... you could have sup holded and then I would have supported you to wales...

he would have lost warsaw + kiel next year....

Bad Retreat Options in Greek Diplomacy
In http://www.vdiplomacy.com/board.php?gameID=1541 a fleet in Olympia was able to retreat to Sparta, despite the coasts not being connected, only the land. The option was also available to retreat to Panon, with the same objections.

One day phases so someone won't just miss turns. Please finalize whenever you are ready; the one-day phase is just a safety valve rather than intended for regular use.

Oli: Rather silly report, not even a bug, but a typo (grek diplomacy)
In the new greek diplomacy, it says "Rhoades" instead of "Rhodes", in the chat panel, and in the lower part where appears the progress bar for each player.
I know it's a rather idiotic report, but still i make it. Don't mean it has to be fixed if it's complicated to do so, 'cause does not affect much gameplay.

PS: great variant!

Variant Question
Can you make it so SCs that aren't owned at the beginning of the game by a power can become home SCs for only one power if taken, and regular SCs for anyone else?

Once I posted on this forum about the end of piericng
I was in a suburban department store and a little boy called to his grandmother who then walked past me and she had a lip piercing. Today at a suburban grocery store a Dodge Caravan drove past me in the parking lot with huge side ads for a tattoo parlor. I will remember this day when I have to pinpoint the moment that tattoos receded into cultural oblivion.

Land Bridges question
I noticed that land bridges are not treated the same in all variants. In Duo, a fleet cannot cross from land to land via a land bridge, but in colonial, they can. Is there a way to know which rule is in place for a particular variant, without searching for past games?
