VPL vs AVPL 1 v 1 double elimination tournament.
I thought of a good way our rival leagues could have a contest. A 1 v 1 double elimination tournament. If the league players are interested ill arrange it. And matches will be based on ranking, like the NCAA basketball tournament. 1 v 10, 2 v 9, etc, unless a majority want other arrangements. If there is intrest ill make it. And we need to choose mas for it.

Rule Change
I advocate a change of the rules for all game, if technologically practical. I believe that players who NMR the first turn should be immediately CDed, so that they might be replaced quickly before games are totally ruined.

Any Westeros variants out there?
I have a feeling the map would make for an interesting diplomacy variant. 9 players representing the 7 kingdoms + House Greyjoy & House Lannister.

To all members of the game "He who controls the spice."
I deeply regret leaving you all. I want to apologize for my absence and explain. For some reason, that game hasn't been opening on my computer. Every time I try to go to it, it just gives me an error, or crashes the browser. I've tried different computers, browsers, you name it. It just doesn't work. I have no idea why.

how can i complain about possible cheaters?
I wish to ask to the GMs to take a look at fog!2.
I can not believe that a player can support another player to move to his own home SC. Even more in a fog of war game.
Thanks!

What would anyone out there think of playing a team WWIV game?

we could randomize the teams. seven teams of five?
kaner406 (2088 D Mod (B))

one team member on each continent.
I'd be interested if we can get enough people to play the game.
gopher27 (1606 D Mod)
01 Oct 11 UTC
Why spread the teams out? I'd say organize teams so that they can work together as operational units. Australia and Oceania and then 11 teams of 3.
Soundwave88 (488 D)
01 Oct 11 UTC
Id agree to operational teams if there was some sort of way to avoid stabbing
drano019 (2710 D Mod)
01 Oct 11 UTC
There's 2 options: Many groups of small, operational teams. Like 12 teams. Or larger teams but spread out. If we have large teams, and we don't spread them out, we'll stalemate too easily.

Also, I'd be interested.

If you can organize, I will play.
Soundwave88 (488 D)

Just an idea but for two teams I was thinking
Arab League: Iran, Egypt, Turkey
Independent American States: Texas, Illinois, California
BenGuin (1529 D)

I have another solution to the stalemate problem... we could have three big teams with four smaller teams inside each big team... the fight between the big teams comes first followed by smaller conflicts between the small teams... at each time, approximately 2/3 of all forces will devote to the larger conflict while the other 1/3 will be "keeping peace" with the other smaller teams... in essance, it will simulate the conflict between large organization of countries and the smaller conflict within the organization itself.
BenGuin (1529 D)

so it's like in the NATO, there's two fractions. UK (and its dominions) and US vs EU (most of which is part of NATO) or like the pre-Communist nations who is against the US-Lead west first but also had secondary conflicts such as the Sino-Soviet Split... :D... I'm proposing that three big teams be America(along with Europe and other pro-American states)-centered, China(along with South-East Asia, the countries that is pro-China such as Iran)-centered, and African(along with some of the anti-US Latin American countries)-centered... what do you guys think?
BenGuin (1529 D)
01 Oct 11 UTC
I'm making a list for the smaller countries right now...
BenGuin (1529 D)
02 Oct 11 UTC
NATO
American Empire (US, Illinois, Canada)
European Union (Catholica, UK)
Democratic States of the Pacific (Japan, Manchuria, Australia, Oceania)
South Atlantic Treaty Organization (Brazil, South Africa, Argentina)

Self-Defense Organization of Anti-Expansionism
Confederation States of America (Texas, California, Quebec)
Arabian League (Egypt, Iran, Central-Asia)
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand)
New Indian Empires (Inca-Empire, Mexico)

WARSAW Pact
USSR (Russia, Turkey, Germany)
Indo-Chinese Empire (Sichua-Empire, Song-Empire, India)
Carribean Communist League (Amazon-Empire, Cuba, Columbia)
Communist African Alliance (Nigeria, Kenya, Congo)
I'm keen for a team game too on WWIV. Here's another way of doing it:

Have two main teams (predecided) that comprise your standard Western alliance (NATO nations and associated alliances) and your standard communist alliance blocks. Aim to even things out (eg 10 per team) then let the others essentially be swayed on what alliance they join or the team captain for West and Communists then pick a side one at a time. Thoughts?
kaner406 (2088 D Mod (B))

2 teams?
The two team breakdown (if you played NATO vs Warsaw Pact - and both alliances associated allies) would be:

The West:
UK
Catholica
Turkey
Quebec
Canada
United States
Illinois
Texas
California
Japan
Australia

The Communists
Russia
Germany
Kazahkistan
Sichaun Empire
Manchuria
Song Empire
Cuba

The West has 11, the Communists at this point of time have 7. I'm not familiar enough with the finer details of Cold War politics in Africa and South America, although a fair deal was socialist leaning (including India). We can either identify 4 more socialist leaning countries and add them to the Communists, or you give the Communist team the first 4 picks, before the rest of the softball team is chosen by both team captains.
Soundwave88 (488 D)

India while not communist itself was more aligned to the Soviets than the west due to west support of Pakistan and the whole Kashmir dispute
Soundwave88 (488 D)
02 Oct 11 UTC
Sorry for double post but I forgot to mention Indonesia was considered likely to fall to communisim though the socialist party either failed to win a majority or was its own down fall I forget which
BenGuin (1529 D)

I'll make another one... I suggest everyone edit the large map in any of the games in the begining to see the layout of the countries so that we can be sure that 1. it's fair, and 2. there's room for conflict...
