sorry Simon but uhh... No. had I planned to stop playing at the time I joined up, I'd not have done so, but, It was not until the past couple of days that I decided to break from Diplomacy. I have so much stuff I want to do this summer, I do not want to be stuck to my computer playing Diplomacy for the whole time. therefore, I am attempting to find ends to as many of my games as possible, and the ones I can't I am trying to progress as fast as possible. I refuse to join more games, including this tournament one. so no, I cannot stick it out with you.

Huh. If you had so much stuff to do, I'd have figured it would have been known in advance. Though I do understand how things change when you actually get to that stuff... I've been in the same straits the past few days.

I guess I'm asking you to treat this tournament, not as a series of new games to avoid joining, but rather an overall 'game' you've already joined. I think fasces and the other players wouldn't be opposed to speeding this up a bit... it doesn't take a week to play 2 1v1s. We could probably be done with this whole thing by the end of the month, final bracket and all, if we did. Could you be persuaded to stay for that long?

This is my last Summer before College. this is the last time I will see a lot of my closest friends for at least a year. I am not willing to spend an entire month making sure I have internet access every day.
and all of this stuff I have has come up recently, like within the past 2 weeks.
sorry, but I am still out...if this was one big game I had already joined, I'd play it out. but as it IS just a bunch of smaller games, I can't do it...

Very well. I definitely understand where you're coming from, don't get me wrong. And it's not like your decision is some horribly evil one or anything. lol. Real life is important, more important than here, ultimately, and if you can't synthesize the two then real life should get the nod. I'm sad to hear you can't finish it out, but it's understandable.

he is not a multi. He has only played in 4 games and has yet to play the same person twice (except for someone who he played back to back 1v1s with. Which isn't uncommon), he was the original replacement for butterhead after butterhead pulled out,

so then I don't get his message up there?

Redcrane agreed to take over Superflemgobuious, then backed out of it. That is likely why he made his comment. I think it was just coincidental that it was so similar to Butterhead's comments. Btw, superflemgobuious has returned (for now) and so it worked out ok that redcrane backed out.

however once I figured that out I moved Redcane to butterheads position. but he decided to back out...

so they reason I have a 100% win rate was because I was trying to teach people the logistics of how to play diplomacy via 1v1s, and I didn't realize we could cancel games (which I have been doing recently). sorry. I'll stop commenting here.

So while you guys were busy, Jimbozig and I went ahead and did our round scheduled for June 10th. That's right, you guys missed two players with a combined 55 wins and 81 win% between them go at it.

gameID=2264 ended in a two-way draw. Austria had this won in 1906! But Eden's Austria forgot to support hold Warsaw, which would have been the 18th center, and instead let Jimbozig's France take a commanding position, holding all of Germany except an indefensible Munich, St. Petersburg and Tunisia. A couple years of crazy positioning and gambling later, and Austria manages to trade Munich for Berlin -- holding a perfect 17-center line for the draw!

gameID=2265, by contrast, was not nearly as eventful. Eden's France and Jimbozig's Austria both opened north -- and the Baltic fleet was so dominant that France even managed to completely bungle its defense in 1905 and get away with it. France won 18-12.
