Maps with a bid for centers system.
Hey everyone.
I really like the added randomness that the Greek diplomacy map as with its bidding to your home centers.
Is there any other maps that have something like this?
Cheers

Convoys with +2 strength variant?
Would a Classic variant with this change (i.e. armies convoyed to a place bringing an attack power of 2 units) be interesting? A convoy involving more than one ship wouldn't have the attack power stack, by the way. If a variant already exists with this property, what is it?

I think, if he drops out, then he will be removed from the list but you will stay in the place you are.
After dealing with a strange concept called “life,” I have returned. Maniacal laugh. I challenge Sky_Hopper to a map of their choice.

Btw, if you have a webDip account, and you like FvA, then you should check out the Spring 2020 Champions League over there. Sign ups are open, at the moment.

There is a limited number of spots, with preference given to higher ranked players (in webDip's ELO ranking). But the last time this tournament was played, two years ago, there were a few spots open for lower ranked players.

Rules and tradition stipulate anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks.
CCR (1957 D)

AE & SH "may not play each other until at least one has played another player" (rule 11; rule 12)

SH, the rules don't mention 'tradition'.

AE & all, you'll find a link to the full rules in my previous post, on page 65.
Mittag (1396 D)
03 Apr 20 UTC
You are quoting the wrong rule, CCR:

13. If the challenge ends in a tie (1-1 or draw-draw), there is no change to the ranking, and either player may challenge the other immediately.

That said, I think there is a common sense of waiting at least a week or two, to give other players a chance of challenging (which, in this particular case, is not relevant).
Mittag (1396 D)
03 Apr 20 UTC
That is, I am actually allowed to challenge you right now CCR! But I think I'll wait until our other game is finished.. ;)
CCR (1957 D)

A 2-2 tie would indicate the required rematch was completed, resulting in another draw. In this situation there is a required 2-day cooldown before a repeat challenge is allowed:

"13. REVISED TO: If the challenge ends in a tie (1-1 or draw-draw), both players must have a rematch, with the other player picking the map. If there is another tie, there is no change to the ranking. Neither player may challenge the other for a period of 2 days."
Okay. In seven hours I will challenge Sky Hopper to a map of their choice.

That said, the arguments in favour of this idea are the followings;
Predisposition of the game and its written orders to manipulate in-game moves history,
Presence of a game master that can keep orders written for the future secret,
Sheer coolness of doing such a thing

Stuff happens in life and people occasionally need help from Mods to exit games without destroying the games for other players. Players who need Mods to remove them and delay games should provide a list of all of their games to the Mods. This is common courtesy.
