As someone who oblivious to things going on at WebDip, can you offer me a brief synopsis of whatever drama is happening?

Flame: Nothing criminal is a pretty low bar! But did you notice that Kestas doxxed somebody who has done as much free labor for webDip as you have done for your Russian Diplomacy website? And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

No, Zultar was quite fair in his assessment. All admins and co-owners have now resigned including myself over his actions.

As someone who has never played on the WebDip site and is not involved, from context clues it sounds like one of the moderators over there went off the deep end with some cursed content? Is this correct?

Kestas made some comments that without context were supportive of genocide, and made some jokes on a women's appreciation day that were pointed out to me by a few moderators (male and female). After discussing in a discord chat with the entire mod and admin team, I confronted him on the forum about it. It escalated and he (accidentally by his claim) doxxed my personal email with my full name which I intentionally keep off the internet since Kestas, myself, and others have gotten death threats for modding the site. Where I live, doxxing a full name is illegal. When I deleted the thread to remove my information and emailed him calling him a fucking idiot, he panicked, removed me as an admin, then removed almost every mod as an admin to make sure none of them would help me delete the site???

When other admins and Zultar let him know they viewed his actions as problematic, he insisted he was right, he did nothing wrong, so every admin and co-owner resigned. Since that point he's been explaining to the women on the forum who are telling him that his jokes were sexist that they are wrong.

Again at the end of the day, it's just some internet drama and not a huge deal, but the online diplomacy community and webdip is something I spent 10+ years of my life helping with (even during the period Kestas says I wasn't). I put in hundreds of development hours (I calculated it once at my job's rate and it was over $90,000 USD) of free work into the site. Banned thousands of cheaters, and the thanks I got was Kestas telling me he was scared I would delete the site because I called him a fucking idiot for doxxing my personal information.

So I am personally done with the diplomacy community, and am a bit disappointed with his treatment of the site that I spent a decade keeping alive while he was gone/not interested.

What happened to WebDip?

I'm an outsider, but it's crazy. I started on WebDip but migrated here, though I tried to keep a game going over there. Now, though, I can't even find a game I want to play there, so I am here for good ... no pinion on merger, that is for the people more involved

The stuff about supporting genocide and jmo being owed $90k I can't take seriously, we do this for fun, no-one owes us anything. But I do not watch Sky news, that's a low blow.

I am sorry for posting jmo's gmail and how it all turned out, with my name and e-mail being public and posted too I'm surprised anyone thinks that was anything more than me being dumb.
jmo has threatened to resign and referenced his $90k before, it's not worth writing an essay about, it's not the first webDip mod breakup drama. jmo is very passionate and that comes with pros and cons, but I've spoken to regulars who agree that it was going to come to a head one way or another.. jmo for all his dedication and contribution stopped actively moderating but just couldn't let go of control, I wish I could've steered it better somehow and wish him all the best.

The great thing about being open source though is at the project/code/hobby etc can survive our egos, and people can play wherever they're most comfortable. Anyway enough navel gazing imho, game on.

(3) Your name and e-mail address have been public pretty much since you launched phpDiplomacy, so it's not like you doxxed yourself or anything like that.

Sky News in Britain is owned by Comcast, who own CNN. Sky News Australia is owned by News Corp, who own Fox News.

I would like to propose that webDip people litigate their webDip drama over at webDip. Honestly, I just don't really care. The drama used to be the reverse that people pushed out of webDip for what seemed like trivial Social Credit "civility" transgressions would end up here as refugees, and I did not much care about the drama that they would always try to share. My interest has not really increased.

If individuals have grudges that they would like to litigate, presumably webDip offers a forum to do so and otherwise people have personal channels for direct messaging.
