Dharmy, you're a dreamer.
Anyway, I'll consider to join a mass live game if:
- the pace is not slower than 10 min/phase, else, the game will go far beyond 5 hours of play. If you set it 20 min/phase, you're going to end in a draw in spring 1903.
- it's a gunboat, or, maybe, public press: too hard to perform simultaneously diplomacy and tactics in 5-10 min.
- the timezone is taken into account so that it will be reasonable to gather players both from USA and Europe.
- the variant is not enourmous in terms of time needed to think/enter orders. Because of this, I'll be fine with any map larger than Classic excluding:
35,World War IV too big
19,Haven too big
17,World Diplomacy IX big, borderline
15,Known World 901 big, borderline
13,Pirates uncommon rules
13,Imperial Diplomacy II too big
12,Rinascimento unfair for gunboat
Those are the remaining 10+ players variants I'll consider to join
34,Classic - Chaos
34,Classic - Chaoctopi
12,Fantasy World Diplomacy
11,Classic - Crowded
10,Modern Diplomacy II
10,Fall of the American Empire IV
10,Youngstown - Redux
10,War in 2020
10,Enlightenment & Succession
5 - 10
bet.
My post may be too constraining, but there're some practical considerations to take into accont in order to let that live game work.
