Moral Education
There once was a brave knight, who walked through the woods.
Tall like a statue, and fearless he stood.
As he came up to his hometown at last,
But he noticed a tree branch fall with a “crash!”
When in a short moment, a troll then appeared.
Fierce were his eyes, and long was his beard.
“I’m an ‘evil’ troll,” he said with a growl.
“I’m gonna eat you, right here, and right now!”
“Don’t do that!” The knight said, unafraid.
“I don’t want to fight you, I’m tired today.”
The troll was saddened and sadly he said,
“I’m just trying to find me a friend.”
The brave knight took pity on the “evil” troll,
Mostly because of the story he told,
But also because he was unloved;
Something that nobody really wants.
“I tell you what,” The knight said with a smile.
“I’ll be your friend, and after a while,
“I’ll find you more friends for you to love,
“Ones who will be there when push comes to shove.”
To the old troll (Whose real name was Bob),
The knight was a messenger sent from the Gods.
And soon, oh quite soon, the knight taught the troll,
Everything “good” that there is to know.
The story of Bob grew and grew:
Soon, half the kingdom had heard the news
That one brave knight who was young and bright
Had taught a troll what was “good” and “right.”
When the king heard the story, he was quite amazed.
He knighted the troll the very next day.
His sword flashed and shimmered, and sparkled and glimmered.
And it knighted old Bob, who’s no longer a slob.
So to all you old trolls, and all you brave knights,
Be careful when somebody gives you a fright.
They might be a monster looking for food,
But they might be somebody who needs to learn what is “good.”
