Rather they complain here on public forums..I think Oli told us to post problems there, Didn't he? Or I am mistaken?

The ProTip Thread
This thread is for quick little tips and tricks that you've picked up while playing Diplomacy. Like this...

Never land a fleet in St Petersburg. If you can't convoy an army in (or move one in from Norway or Finland) wait until you're in position to do so. If you land a fleet there, you've set up your own blockade, preventing you from flooding more units into Russia.

CONTRACT NON-Anon GUNBOAT
The purpose of this Special Rules Private Game is to have an enjoyable old style (= non Anonymous) Gunboat game among gentlemen who have read, agreed, accepted each of the following rules and who promise to observe them carefully.
Guaroz (2030 D (B))
11 Jul 12 UTC
The main goal of the Contract is to have a game that never stops and that goes ahead quickly. That's why many standard rules have been modified or cut out.
The first thing you promise is that you won't CD, so if you have some engagements in your schedule the next 2 months, you can stop reading: this is not the game for you.
The second thing you promise is that you will never forget that this game must go on quickly. This game is addressed to those people who can check a game *at least* twice a day almost everyday.

THE CONTRACT
1. You won't CD. Please do not join if you may stay away from your computer in the next few months.
2. Each time you log in the game, you decide and FINALIZE your orders before you log out. Saving orders is not allowed under any circumstance.
3. If you're the last one who finalizes, you must refresh the game page and finalize your orders for the next phase.
4. If you have to retreat your last unit in Autumn and you can't retreat it into a SC, you must disband it. Thanks for the game, mate, we wish you better luck next time! :)
5. This is the first game you'll check each time you log in VDiplomacy. Please don't get caught like you logged in the site 2 hours ago, when the current phase was already started, and you didn't put your orders in. This game has highest priority.
6. The goal of rules from 2 to 5 is to have a quasi-live game. What's hoped is to play at least 2 phases a day everyday. However, in order to handle weekends, Thanksgiving etc, the phase lenght is set to 36 hours. Gentlemen, please don't abuse this.
7. Voting for Pauses, Extensions and Cancel is not allowed under any circumstance. Voting for a Draw is not allowed during the first 4 years.
8. In the rare case an unpredictable issue keeps you away from the internet long enough to risk a NMR, you'll do your best to find a sitter or someone to send the game to, using Country-Switch Feature in your Settings page.
9. If, notwithstanding all, someone CDs, I'll post a "Please take over this Country" on this thread and the game will go on whether someone subs or not.
10. Other parameters are: cheap 10 D buy-in; Random Country; PPSC; Non Anon; No Press; RR 90+ MinPhs 99+;NMR 0/1.
11. Rules looks simple enough, but if you need clarifications feel free to ask your question on this thread.
12. Once you read this whole post, all rules are clear, you accept them, you promise to observe them, you can PM me for the password: I'll PM it to you as we got enough players.
13. This is an invitational Private game. Password has been given to you for your use only, you're not allowed to tell it to anyone under any circumstance.
14. Map: American Conflict (6 players). SCs required for solo win: Default 29 of 56 (half+1).
If need be (IE, more than 6 players signed up), I will choose a different map, setting the Victory Condition on half+1.

It should go without saying that, being the game a Gunboat, players are not allowed to talk about it (by PM, Forum, email, voice, phone or whatever) with anyone and for any reason until the game is over. Silence please! :)
EoG statements are welcome after the game is over.

Also, don't forget that, although there may be a lot of nonverbal communication that could lead to something resembling to alliances in regular Diplomacy, in a Gunboat there are no treaties because there are no words.
So there can't be betrayal in a Gunboat: you'll never be a traitor, you can always play for your best!

Any Gentlemen up for it?

Ojibwe
EoG:

2nd time I've drawn this country in this variant, so I new straight away the importance of grabbing the North Channel early in the game, in this I was assisted by Algonquin (thanks!). Kaskasia was my major enemy for the whole game, and by the time (after some struggle) I hit Eirie coming the other direction. I tried to get a foothold in Otawatomi territory but succeeded in only gaining Aetna. At this point it became clear that we were heading for either a 3-way draw or a Iroquois win. I stabbed Algonquin to hurry the process along, and then Iroquois stabbed Eirie for the win after deposing of Ottawa.

Congrats Gary123 for the win. This game was quick and nasty. Thanks everyone for the game!

Iroquois EoG:
I wanted to defeat Mississauga first, since he was one of the greatest threats to my survival, and one of the closest ways to get a few supply centers. It was lucky for me that Otawatomi and Erie, Ottawa and Algonquin, and Ojibwe and Kaskasia were fighting, which made the two other biggest threats to me (Erie/Ottawa) focus elsewhere. Nobody grew much in those years. Gradually, Erie, Ottawa, and Ojibwe got the upper hands in their fights. I attacked Ottawa because I didn't want him getting powerful enough to oppose me. Then I just gradually gained 1 or 2 centers each year, and I was luckily in a position to take just enough centers to win in the end.

I think that Indians of the Great Lakes is flawed because it's so easy to set up a few stalemate lines, and because it's hard to get your own fleets into other great lakes.

Sorry to Guaroz for the stab at the end, but there was a solo in sight and I thought I should go for the win.

Im definitely up for another game of this type. I didn't last long, but I felt the whole process moved a lot smoother than normal games. Without a doubt, this is a great way for players who are able to log on enough for a fast paced game to have fun and not way days for a game to progress. I think it would be cool to try other variants with this idea as well.

Some stats from this game.

gameID=9039
Start: 16 Jul 2012
Finish: 7 Aug 2012
Duration: 23 days for 72 phases (17 years)
Average phase: 7h 40min (3.13 phases each day)
Average year: 32h 30min (0.74 years each day)

I thank all gentlemen who played in it. Although there has been some minor issues with some rules, I have to say that, on the whole, things went out exactly how I hoped.
Thank you: you've all been great!

Please stay tuned if you're interested in the second Contract: the new thread will be started in less than a week.

Reliability Rating Issue
So this has probably been addressed many times, and will get yelled at since I am new and maybe did not read something. But I looked into it and am still confused. I have only played one game and have a RR of -100 rookie. However even when I or a friend makes a game with no request for a certain RR It says my RR is too low. How can i get it higher if i cannot join a game?

A few hours before the end there was only my draw vote in (Slavic) and Norge's. I didn't expect this morning to wake up and find a 5 way draw. Not with this SCs difference.
Il Principe, Guaroz, couldn't we go for the natural outcome: 3 way draw?
Your thoughts will be appreciated.

When there is a game full of CDs and a four way draw is negotiated and agreed to, what are we to think of a player who then rushes for a tactical advantage to chase the solo as others are making no effort to block him?
