A Sincere Thread
In my early beginnings as a player on WebDip, I was inexperienced and easily taken advantage of. Giggity. I was later deemed a troll after creating a game designed for honest diplomats. I never understood why. After learning how best to annoy people with very little effort, I soon took on the role that was given to me.

Annoying
I just started playing again after a long break (ironically, just when we're about to start talking about WWI in school, the problem is, I'm trying to join some games, but it said that I was joining too many games for a "new member" and I needed to play 6 more phases in any games. I understand that this is necessary for new players, but I've played before and wish that this could be applied to date joined rather than point count.

Am I alone here or do other people find this funny? Aside from the fact that the creator of course ditched his "working class" wife for the progeny of one of the four families that own her entire country, Marianne has in my opinion just totally stolen this song. I don't think that I am capable of imagining anyone else singing it as their own song, rather like Sunday Morning Comin' Down.....the songwriter can sing it and the response is "wait that is not Johnny Cash....You suck!!!!" But any way Marianne Faithfull, leaving aside the suffering and pathos of being a heroin addict, is descended from the aristocracy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Perhaps the most famous named dessert on Earth is named for her family as is one of the 4-5 most famous hotels on Earth and a famous character archetype in literature which has gone on to become a mental illness. Working class hero indeed. Imagine Paris Hilton singing this song if her family history went back a century further and did not start in El Paso, Texas.

You know, normally I overanalyze things, but...I think this might be a bit too much overanalysis, once we get to the naming of desserts and hotels.

I point was "She rich". How rich? So rich that there is famous shit named after her family.

My research paints her as having aristocratic roots, but there's a difference between being titled and being rich. After her parents divorced, she and her mother were recipients of charity despite her mother being a Baroness...for a country that no longer existed.

I apologize for my sloppy phrasing. She is from England, not the US. "She be posh" would be better phrasing. The song is working class hero and within the conventions of the society in which she grew up and from which the song takes its meanings she is as far from "working class" as one can get. We should be taking conventions of the British class system here not American "it's all about the money" standards.

All I'm saying is that her family seems far far removed from their glory days by the time she sprung into being, also it's important to note that she wasn't English aristocracy, despite being in England and being aristocratic.

An aristocrat without money is not working class.....it is generally aristocrats who lack money who are the furthest removed from "working class".
