WWIV description

recently playing some WWIV games i noticed that the variant description is not sufficient, as it does not tell anything abou IST, PAN, and EGY and also doesnt tell you that fllet cant move into territories that are bordered by this arctic territory, eg YUK and SRG...it is not optimal that you have to send units to these territories to find out what the rules there are...and asking in the public chat might give away plans...

wow, how's this for checking in ...WWIV is one of the games I created!
we were speaking about my Explore! game in another thread but this is another one of my games! I know several people took it under their wing and I seldom get credit for it but yep, it was created by myself (many years ago) so if you have a question, seems like none better to ask?

I don't know what you speak of as far as the "variant description not being sufficient" I'm guessing this is being hosted by someone and they did not make reference and maybe they altered the game since? IST, EGY and PAN have canals of course similar to Denmark and Constantinople in the standard game.

If you check out my page you will see a map posted and at the bottom it has a brief description. This map also shows the potential Ice Breaker rule where the Arctic Ocean is passable in Spring turns ONLY (also listed on the top right is how this works and the default retreat areas)

its ok the variant is literally epic, i like the icebreaker rule...i just thought Oli or one of he mods could maybe add the rules i asked for to the description, especially as these are explained in most of the other variants too...

welcome to our site. Nice to see you here. I know this map (or many variations of this map) are all over the Internet and I took just some creators I found there.

For example, on DipWiki the credit goes to Tom Mulledy, he and I worked together on several versions and he was major contributor and helper. weltkonflikte.de is mentioned and Steffan over there has really taken the game under his wing and helps it grow but sheeesh, it pains me to see the stuff I did getting attributed to others for the actual design, it was not created by a group, even the maps used still are my own!

The ice breaker rule was a fun twist, and almost as much fun as airlifting (convoy) Russian paratroopers into Canada
